It is no secret that the environmental impacts of the fashion and textile industry are vast and detrimental. The industry accounts for about 10% of the global CO2 emissions and 20% of wastewater worldwide, not to mention that approximately 35% of the world’s microfibers released into the environment stem from textiles. Extra pressure has been added on financing green transitions with the COVID-19 pandemic, which has hit the industry hard, and it is imperative to build the industry back better and greener. The webinar will address the challenges and opportunities of shifting the industry to become more environmentally friendly, where the panellists will discuss financial tools, new business models, brands abilities to influence the agenda, and look into concrete solutions.

The panel event is part of a global strategic project within the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which took place in collaboration between the Danish Embassies in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh as well as the Consulate General of Denmark in New York.
