TEDC Hiring Design Research Assistant

The Tishman Environment and Design Center (TEDC), housed within The New School, fosters the integration of bold design, policy, and social justice approaches to environmental issues to advance just and sustainable outcomes in the context of diverse community participation.The New School, in conjunction with TEDC, recently submitted a bold, comprehensive plan to address climate change and sustainability, including a full divestment of fossil fuels. In the next two years TEDC aims to solidify its role as a significant sustainability research and cultural center in New York City.TEDC is currently seeking a highly motivated student to fill a part-time position as a Design Research Assistant (10-15 hours/week) working directly with our team on campus and our environmental justice partners in the New York region.The ideal candidate is a design or media student, however all students are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate is a self-starter in good academic standing with strong interpersonal & organizational skills. S/he is an analytical thinker and creative problem-solver who has a strong interest in TEDC’s mission.The Design Research Assistant will work under the supervision of the Associate Directors and with a team of other research assistants to handle a variety of tasks including conducting research, designing promotional and educational materials for print and online, website design and updates, and assistance at special TEDC events.

Preferred Qualifications:
