TEDC and Milano School Hold Lunch and Learn with International Sustainability Expert Milagre Nuvunga
The Tishman Environment and Design Center and the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy co-hosted international sustainability and development expert, Milagre Nuvunga. Milagre Nuvunga met with New School students and faculty as well as community members for a lunch and learn discussion on Monday, February 8 to discuss her past work as a forester and her numerous senior positions in the Mozambican government. She now serves as co-founder and Executive Director of MICAIA. MICAIA is a non governmental organization (NGO) that is dedicated to helping Mozambicans challenge poverty and create lasting change in their communities. The lunch had a lively discussion about the importance of community knowledge at every level when developing policy, giving equal opportunity and educational access to both boys and girls, encouraging students to use their unique privilege to education to create positive change, and why it’s important to never stop having a desire to do more.
