2021 Faculty and Student Grant Applications Open!

Our student awards from the spring were a great success and we were happy to fund fourteen great student projects. We are happy to announce that we have opened the application for the next semester’s student & faculty grants! If you are interested, please see details below:

2021 Student Award for Excellence Application

• Applications Due By: January 14, 2021

• Awards may be up to $3,000 each.. Awards will be disbursed in February 2021

• Decisions will be based on how the student used their studies at The New School or community activism to engage on issues or solve problems related to justice, equity, sustainability, environmentalism, or the climate emergency. .

• Students from any discipline or college at The New School may apply.

2021 Faculty Grant Application

• The deadline to submit the application is January 10th, 2021

• Funds will support the development of innovative curriculum materials focused on defined sustainability learning outcomes, including social justice values and environmental literacy competencies students should develop in order to graduate from the New School and that are in accordance with our Mission and Values at the Tishman Center.

• Part-time and full-time faculty are eligible to apply

• The grant will run from January 17 - June 1, 2021. All grant dollars must be spent by June 1, 2021. Grant dollars must be used to support faculty and research assistant time.

• Due to the limited amount of funding, our desire to award as many grants as possible, and different resource requirements for different types of projects, please note that stipend amounts may vary across awards
