The Arnold and Sheila Fellowship was established in 2020 by former New School trustee Arnold Aronson. The fellowship was one of his last contributions to The New School before his passing. The Aronson Fellowship provides financial support to students who are, through their studies, research, or practice, finding solutions to the most pressing sustainability challenges facing the world today.
The Arnold and Sheila Aronson Fellowship is an endowment made possible by the Aronson family with support from the Ralph and Ricky Lauren Family Foundation and the Ralph Lauren Corporation. This endowment also supports the Archive for Environmental Sustainability at The New School, which will allow us to capture and preserve all of the innovative and essential research happening in the environmental justice sector, from The New School to our local and global communities.
The Arsonson Fellowship is housed here at the Tishamn Envionment and Design Center. We are a university-wide center that fosters the integration of bold design, policy, and social justice approaches to environmental issues to advance just and sustainable outcomes in collaboration with communities. The Arsonon Fellows will have the opportunity to advance the mission of the Tishman Center and uphold the Aronson legacy here at The New School. Fellows will do this by delving deeply into design, policy, and environmental justice approaches to address the climate and equity crises.
